Securing Africa’s Largest Agribusiness through IT Wellness & Cyber Resilience

Client Profile:

Founded in the 1980s, this leading Egyptian conglomerate has evolved into one of Africa’s largest agribusiness groups, spanning poultry, animal feed, agro processing, fish farming, olive oil, and veterinary services. Recognized as the continent’s largest egg producer, the group manages millions of hens and distributes food products across MENA and international markets. Known for sustainability and innovation, the group also invests in land cultivation and community-based agricultural progress.

Challenges:

  • Despite working with a globally recognized accounting firm, the client was
dissatisfied with the depth and actionability of their cybersecurity and IT system assessments
  • Operated across millions of data points, high-value IP (animal genetics,
formulations), and critical infrastructure—but lacked a clear understanding
    of their network risks
  • Internal audit (IA) team wanted to build in-house capacity to monitor IT
controls and cyber risks going forward

Our Solution:

JCSS Indonesia was brought in to lead a comprehensive IT System Wellness Review and Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing (VAPT). Our approach included:

  • A full-spectrum review of infrastructure, access controls, firewall policies,
    and endpoint security
  • Hands-on collaboration with the client’s Internal Audit team, enabling real
time knowledge transfer during the assessment
  • Delivery of a bilingual, executive-friendly cyber risk report identifying
    network weaknesses and high-risk vulnerabilities
  • Immediate support in prioritizing and closing the exposed gaps in their IT
    environment
  • Follow-up advisory on cyber hygiene SOPs and internal control frameworks
    tailored for agribusiness IT ecosystems

Results Delivered:

  • Exposed critical vulnerabilities that were previously overlooked, including risks of data theft and infrastructure compromise.
  • Client took swift corrective actions with our technical assistance
  • Internal audit team empowered with practical exposure and capability building
  • Elevated cybersecurity governance standards across operations
  • Current discussions underway to extend similar IT risk and VAPT reviews
    across the group’s other subsidiaries
